The Southern Dutchess News has served the area south of Poughkeepsie with news and features since 1959. It is an official newspaper of Dutchess County by vote of the Dutchess County Legislature. Coverage includes local town, village and school news and features, Dutchess County Legislature, county legal notices, obituaries, plus coverage of arts and entertainment, hospitals and health, education, libraries and local businesses and organizations.

The Southern Dutchess News targets Arlington, Beekman, Chelsea, Dover, Fishkill, East Fishkill, Hopewell Junction, Hughsonville, LaGrange, New Hamburg, Pawling, Spackenkill, Stormville, Town of Poughkeepsie, Town of Wappinger, Union Vale and Village of Wappingers Falls.

Already named an “official newspaper” of Stanfordville and Rhinebeck, it also serves Hyde Park, Red Hook, Tivoli, Milan, Pine Plains, Amenia, Dover, Millbrook, Clinton Corners, Salt Point and Pleasant Valley.
